Ministries

We conduct two worship services every Lord’s Day; one begins at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 6:00 p.m. (1:45 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month). Sunday school begins at 11:00 a.m. We currently hold separate classes for toddlers, elementary age children, secondary age children, and adults. In these classes we teach more simple doctrines to our younger children and focus more deeply as the age of the student increases.

Every third Sunday of the month, we conduct a service at the Vista Assisted Living Center in Lake Villa, Illinois. We sing hymns and provide a short meditation on God’s Word so that those who come may join us in the praise and worship of God.

On a monthly basis, we, along with other congregations in our denomination take an offering to support a mission work that ministers to the Menominee Indian Tribe in northern Wisconsin. The people of that congregation are unable to support a pastor on their own, so we help out through monthly special offerings; but our support goes beyond financial giving. We regularly offer prayers on their behalf, and young people from our congregation have helped by leading a Vacation Bible School.

Every second Sunday of the month we have a family-style meal together following the morning service. Friends and members contribute a variety of food which all share. These meals offer an opportunity for the church family to fellowship in a relaxed format. An afternoon service follows these monthly meals in lieu of an evening service.

On a quarterly basis, we receive an offering for the work of Mid-America Reformed Seminary (MARS). MARS Board of Directors and Faculty are dedicated to serve the Lord’s church in preparing men for the pastoral ministry in local congregation, mission field, and in other areas of broader church ministry.

In March of 2009, the church assumed oversight of Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church, a mission work in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This church is made of several families who are meeting there to establish a distinctly reformed witness in that city.
